Pinky Swear:
A proposal for Promise Emoji.
A proposal was developed with the intention of submitting it to the Unicode website to request the inclusion of a new emoji.
Abstract
Effective communication is crucial for building trust between individuals. Adding the word "Promise" to a commitment indicates a high level of seriousness and reliability, which fosters trust in any given situation. To further, strengthen this concept, I propose adding a pinky swear emoji to the collection of hand-gesture emojis.
The pinky swear gesture originated in Japan, where it is known as Yukibiri. According to ancient Japanese tradition, breaking a promise would require cutting off one's little finger. In modern times, the pinky swear has become an informal way of sealing a promise, commonly used among school-age children and close friends worldwide.
To summarize, this simple gesture represents a promise that is unbreakable and reinforces the importance of trust in human relationships.

From pop culture to personal interactions, the pinky swear's unique ability to signify commitment and trust makes it a truly enduring symbol with no equivalent in terms of its geographical reach. Therefore, it is safe to say that this symbol is not transient and will continue to hold significance for generations to come.
