poster making in the style of art nouveau

The poster below was designed to promote a play titled "Imaginative" by Antonin Artaud. In order to pay homage to the playwright and match the Art Nouveau aesthetics of the theatre, the poster was also created in the Art Nouveau style.

EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY: GREEN #MYTYPE

GREEN #mytype is a living installation that combined experimental typography with sustainability and expressed progress and growth as it was changing over the course of the event. It was made to represent farmers and their immerse contribution to the nation's progress. The installation captured the slow process of nurturing small seeds into saplings and then into living, breathing plants.

The seeds used were rai (mustard) and ragi (millet), two of the most commonly used plants in Indian food.

Mustard seeds were used as spices, as oil and seeds themselves could be fried to be used as a seasoning. Ragi can be ground into flour or fermented into a drink.

EXPERIMENTing with images

As we are invaded by a flood of images, constantly, and daily. We archive quantities of images taken with our phone, found online, or cut out from magazines. The high-low culture cross-pollinates, mixes, memory, and overlap. During the Workshop by Visual Artists Rejane Lhote and Jennifer Abessira, I investigated an atlas of images, visited the past, saw through the eye of the present, projecting in the future. Day by day, I counted, sorted out, scanned, analyzed, classified, saved, filed, and indexed pieces of a puzzle. Made connections between images seen for the first time or images looked at again, I tried to grasp things in their entirety but likely, I found instead glimpses or flashes of unexpected revelations, which trigger the desire to explore further through images.

The image presented below represents a collage, composed of fragments of imagery, drawn from the rich and vibrant landscape of my dreams, as recorded in my Dream Journal.

The image below provides a thought-provoking take on the consequences of deforestation if the roles were reversed, and humans were subject to the same fate.

visualiZing beck’s everlasting nothing via screen printing

In my interpretation of the song, I envision a solitary traveler in a vast and limitless landscape, yet burdened with a sense of emptiness. The song’s psychedelic and country undertones complement this melancholic atmosphere.

To bring this visualization to life, I decided to create a depiction of a lonesome cowboy wandering aimlessly in a world of infinite possibilities, forever pursuing an unattainable goal symbolized by a Golden Sun.

a2 sized commdesign workshop poster

In preparation for an on-campus workshop, I faced the challenge of transforming a 4-page document into an A2-sized poster that effectively conveyed all the necessary information. To accomplish this task, I grouped the information and arranged it based on a hierarchy of importance. I also followed the principles of Gestalt to ensure that the poster had a clear and cohesive design. The end result was a poster that effectively communicated the key details of the workshop in an aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-understand format.
